Project Report on Developments of Cellular Automata Theory and Its Applications

چکیده

Cellular automata are considered to be a nice model of complex systems in which an infinite oneor twodimensional array of finite state machines (cells) updates itself in synchronous manner according to a uniform local rule. In this project report, we give an overview of our project. We have proposed a large number of algorithms for a variety of cellular automata. We focus our attention to the study a synchronization problem which gives a finite-state protocol for synchronizing a large scale of cellular automata. The problem and its solution themselves have a lot of interesting properties which capture fundamental elements of cellular automata. The solutions of the problem give us deep insights into global versus local communications in cellular automata. We also give their implementations on a computer.
